Best Time to Send a Crypto Press Release: Day, Hour, Region

There’s no single best time to send a crypto press release, and anyone who gives you one hour for every project is guessing. What exists is a handful of patterns about the week, the clock and the news cycle. Put together, they beat a coin flip.

Outset PR looked at the question in August 2026, with its media partnerships manager Maria Bulgakova. The article’s own warning is worth repeating first. A quieter inbox improves the odds of being noticed, but timing alone won’t make a weak pitch relevant.

The Best Time to Send a Crypto Press Release by Weekday

On the weekly rhythm, Outset’s piece gives practical guidance, though it’s presented as Bulgakova’s experience, not a dataset. The second half of Monday, roughly after 2 PM, suits launching a campaign after the opening burst of weekly tasks has cleared. From Tuesday through Thursday, pitching tends to work better before late afternoon. Friday is generally a poor time for reminders and follow-ups.

Plenty of generic guides quote bigger numbers. But they mix press release wires with email pitches, and they rarely cover crypto desks. Treat any single day as a hypothesis to test, then check it against your own replies.

Newsroom Windows in UTC

Crypto desks sit in several time zones at once. Write the plan in UTC. A mid-morning window of 9 to 11 local time is a working assumption here, not a rule from a study. In standard time it works out roughly like this. Singapore and Hong Kong fall at 01:00 to 03:00 UTC. India lands at 03:30 to 05:30. Dubai is 05:00 to 07:00.

Continental Europe runs 08:00 to 10:00 UTC, London 09:00 to 11:00, and New York 14:00 to 16:00. Daylight saving moves the European and US windows an hour earlier in summer, and the clocks change at different dates in spring and autumn. Check the calendar in the week of the send.

Notice how little overlap exists. A 14:00 UTC release lands in a New York morning and a London afternoon. Because of that gap, a launch aimed at one region should be timed for that region. A global one should stage the pitches rather than send once. Setting an embargo lift time in UTC makes that staging possible.

Events and Markets That Bury a Release

Outset notes that around Consensus or TOKEN2049, journalists are often traveling and covering stories on the ground. Email slides down the priority list and response rates fall. A conference week is the weakest week to ask for attention, and conference media planning works better when your news is part of the event, not competing with it.

Markets do the same thing without warning. The article says a sudden price swing, a major hack, a regulatory decision or a macro event can take over the news cycle overnight. An earlier look at Fed-day timing shows how a scheduled event can bury an announcement that looked well timed. Still, a sharp move can also help, if your news connects to it for real.

Holidays, Regions and Fixed Dates

Regional calendars matter as well. Outset points to Chinese New Year slowing contact in Asia, an August lull in much of Europe, and Brazil’s December to February summer holidays. For the year-end, Bulgakova treats December 15 as the last normal pitching window, with the days to the 20th better for follow-ups.

Fixed-date news is different. A token launch or listing can’t wait for a better week. Then flexibility comes from the angle, the format and the outlet list. Picking outlets tier by tier and understanding how editors weigh a story help when the date can’t move.

Testing Your Own Send Time

Keep a simple log. Record the outlet, the region, the day, the UTC hour and whether anyone replied or published. After twenty or thirty sends, patterns show up for your own audience. Change one variable at a time, or the result won’t mean anything.
